Trafalgar House is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in.
Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to be part of a weekly rota system and available for on call duties.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. Manchester Mind is looking to recruit a Mums Matter Project Worker to work alongside our existing Co-ordinator to expand delivery of the established project. The role will involve the delivery of courses, workshops, peer support groups and 1:1 support in Children’s Centres across Manchester to teach and develop self-care skills for women experiencing mental health difficulties in the first two years of parenthood. We would like to work with someone who has their own lived experience of motherhood, is dynamic, sensitive and passionate about being able to support women and work collaboratively with other services to improve wellbeing for women and their families.
Position: Mums Matter Project Worker
Salary: £27,574 (pro rata £19,696)
Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months (extension possible dependent upon funding)
Hours: 25 hours per week
The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:
- Experience of supporting people who have experience of mental health and/or perinatal mental health problems and an understanding of how that affects people and their families.
- Experience of delivering training and teaching self-care strategies.
- Ability to work in a strengths-based way that recognises the potential for individuals to develop and enable resilience.
- Ability to create a sense of belonging through development of kind relationships that lead to people feeling accepted and able to contribute.

You’ll need a significant understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working within a mental health setting where you dealt with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively. A good understanding of recovery and coproduction is important too. Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities on time, you have a flexible attitude to working hours and, above all, keen to be part of something new and worthwhile that will change lives.

Manchester Mind believe in the power of listening and being heard, that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and that we have a part to play in that.
We are working with partners and schools to increase access to support to young people around their mental health. As part of this role you will be responsible for developing a service for young people predominately across a selection of secondary schools and in the community. You’ll be part of a team that is developing relationships with young people and staff within schools, the community and across the partnership with the aim of improving the mental health of young people.
Position: Schools Mental Health Practitioner
Salary: £27,810 (£30,417 full time)
Hours: 32 hours per week until 31st July 2025 (extension possible dependent upon funding)
Base: Manchester Mind CYP Service / predominately working across schools and in the community / home-based as required
Reporting to: Manchester Mind CYP Service Manager
The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:
- A relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or Youth & Community Work (at graduate level).
- At least two years’ experience of working with young people aged 11-18.
- Experience in providing effective individual support to young people who are under stress/have mental health difficulties
- Awareness of the impact of mental health on the lives of young people.
- Experience of delivering psycho-social support to young people with learning disabilities. (DESIRABLE)
