Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle. We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.   Sustrans Scotland is seeking to recruit people with a passion for place and urban design to join our behaviour change team.


Community Engagement Officer, Street Design (ref:  SUS2688)

£24,446 per annum

37.5 hours per week - based in Edinburgh


The exciting opportunity this role gives is to be part of the inspiring Street Design team delivering a range of projects across Scotland getting involved with the planning, promoting and facilitation of sessions with communities and stakeholders with the aim of developing design proposals and behaviour change recommendations that make it easier for people to walk, cycle and wheel.   


With a good standard of education, you will have experience of effective delivery of practical projects with community engagement as a core element, of partnership working and of leading and delivering group workshops or facilitation.  Your excellent written and verbal communications skills will enhance your ability to develop productive working relationships and motivate and influence others.  You will also have the ability to implement effective and innovative methods for community workshops and activities, have good IT, administrative and report writing skills and have a knowledge and understanding of the practical constraints of engaging with local communities and partners.  You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
