Highways Engineer (Liveable Cities and Towns)
£28,667 per annum
(Inclusive of a Recruitment and Retention allowance)
37.5 hours per week - base: Manchester/Liverpool
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a Highways Engineer to join a truly collaborative team who design and deliver innovative solutions for walking and cycling infrastructure. Working together to achieve our strategic priority of liveable cities and towns for everyone, we are very proud of our portfolio of ground-breaking community-led projects such as the award-winning Levenshulme Bee Network, Liverpool School Neighbourhoods and York School Streets. We work across networks, neighbourhoods and streets, working hand in hand with local communities reshaping their streets and alongside Local Authorities unlocking the wider road network to encourage greater active travel. Underpinning all our work is a passion for sustainability and support for our vision of a society where the way we travel creates healthier places and happier lives for everyone.
We are looking for a talented engineer with a background in delivering quality highway infrastructure schemes and ideally with a track record of working with community groups and partners. Someone who can help us develop and progress feasibility reports, prepare designs and contracts and see our active travel projects through to construction and delivery. In return we can help you to develop new skills and give you the freedom to express yourself creatively. We also encourage professional development with our industry-leading internal multi-disciplinary training opportunities and support towards attaining incorporated or chartered status, including ICE and CIHT. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team who really enjoy working together and value the contribution and expertise each individual brings.
Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9am Monday 20 July 2020. Interviews will take place via MS Teams on Thursday 23 or Friday 24 July 2020.
