The I Bike Programme is an initiative to create a culture of active travel (cycling, scooting and walking) in schools promoting safer, happier and healthier communities. As well as delivering activities which promote active travel across the whole school community, I Bike aims to address two specific issues around cycling to school; the drop off in active travel between primary and secondary school and the gender gap which sees girls being less physically active than boys.
With a good standard of education and committed to sustainable travel through walking, cycling and using public transport, you will be experienced at project management and delivery in the education, community, behavior change or physical activity setting. Your leadership and motivational proficiency will complement your excellent verbal and written communications and organisational skills. You will have experience of partnership working and have a good understanding of the I Bike and active travel work. Line management ability and IT literacy are also required. Enhanced Disclosure Scotland (PVGS) clearance is mandatory for this post.
Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9am on Monday 4 November 2019. Interviews will take place in Edinburgh on Thursday 21 November 2019.
Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion. We welcome applications from people with the appropriate skills from all parts of the community.
