Job description

     I Bike Officer, East Lothian

£24,446 pro rata per annum

18.75 hours per week – contract to 31 July 2021 - based in Musselburgh

The main exciting responsibilities of this role will include delivering and supporting the I Bike project in up to 8 schools (7 primary schools and one secondary school) across East Lothian, focussing on Musselburgh.  Through you, this project will promote active travel (cycling, scooting and walking) for journeys to and from school and during leisure time, supporting staff and volunteer ‘school champions’, harnessing local authority resources and making links between schools, external partners and the bicycle industry.

 

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent and committed to cycling and the promotion of sustainable transport, you will have experience of working with children and young people, experience of partnership working within a community based or environmental project, excellent communication and presentation skills, be IT literate and have the ability to motivate others.  You will also need a current clean driving licence.  Clearance by the appropriate enhanced Disclosure Scotland check is mandatory for this role.

 

Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9am Friday 17 July 2020.  Interviews will take place via Teams / Zoom or, if possible, in Musselburgh on Thursday 30 July 2020.
