IT & Systems Project Manager

£31,683 per annum

18 month Fixed Term contract

Up to 37.5 hours per week – happy to talk flexible working


Base: Work from home currently, nominated office hub- Bristol


About the role

As the IT and Systems Project Manager for Sustrans, you will report to the Head of IT Systems & Projects. There is no line management responsibility in this position.

In this role, you will plan, manage and lead new system and infrastructure IT projects through to successful delivery using IT best practices and applying project management methodologies.

Contributing directly to delivering the IT strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Sustrans wide IT systems and infrastructure projects are delivered to cost, on time and of the highest quality and ensure all are consistent with policy, process and procedure.

This role will initially be home based working, with occasional travel expected to the hub office base in Bristol with the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.


About you

It is essential you are an effective and clear communicator, enabling engagement with people at all levels and allowing you to positively influence

internal stakeholders to executive level. In addition you will have a proven track record of building strong working partnerships with both colleagues and those who deliver change in an organisation.

You will have previously delivered infrastructure projects which have a material impact on the profitability or risk profile of the parent organisation or its clients whilst ensuring that the needs of the organisation are met and team members are adding value to all assigned projects.

We will look for you to evidence your expertise in delivering large scale transformational IT projects from implementation to conclusion. Ideally you will have experience of implementing new antivirus software to ensure adherence to cyber essential requirements.

You should hold Prince 2, Agile or other project delivery certification.
