North West Wales

£24,691 pro rata per annum

30 hours per week – contract to 31 March 2023 – based in Bangor Area

 

About the role

This exciting role involves promoting cycling and walking as forms of active and sustainable travel to school age children, parents and staff at selected primary and secondary schools across northwest Wales.  The project aims to reduce the number of pupils being driven to school.  This will also include supporting ‘school champions’ in schools, harnessing local authority resources available for cycling and active travel and to making links between schools and the wider community.

 

About you

With experience of working in a schools setting with children and young people, of delivering training to teachers and of partnership working within a range of capabilities, you will have the ability to build strong working relationships.  Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your excellent written and verbal communication will complement your strong organisational skills.  IT literacy is essential as is an understanding of school settings and the health benefits of active travel.  You will also be committed to active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport.  DBS Enhanced Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.  Welsh language conversation skills are essential for this role.
