Job description

S V 2 is looking for an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA).

 

 

S V 2 is a Charity working in partnership with Derbyshire Constabulary, NHS England and Derbyshire County Council to provide support for victims of rape and serious sexual assault at Millfield House, a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) based in the middle of the County.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated Independent Sexual Violence Adviser to provide emotional and practical support to individuals who have experienced sexual abuse or rape.

 

The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality, specialist service to victims of sexual violence working within a multi-agency setting to provide an empathic and pro-active support service to victims of sexual violence aged 17+ and their families, within and outside of the criminal justice system.

 

This role is part of SV2’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) service, which comprises of a team offering emotional and practical support to individuals who have experienced sexual abuse or rape.

 

This is a part time, permanent position working 30 hours per week over 4 days, from Monday to Thursday. The role will be covering the whole of Derbyshire within an allocated area which will be the North of the County. You will be required to work from home and our offices in Alfreton and Derby.

 

The salary for this position is £18,547 for an unqualified ISVA, increasing to £21,047 (£26,309 FTE) per annum once qualified, 27 days, plus bank holidays, leave per annum (pro rata).

 

To apply for this post, you will need:

  • Five GCSEs Grade C or above or a higher level qualification
  • At least One Year’s direct practice in managing complex client cases
  • Experience of building relationships with partner services and other professionals
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment with professional boundaries
  • Experience of using whole systems approaches in supporting the care of clients
  • Knowledge of issues affecting victims of sexual violence and abuse
  • Knowledge and experience in relation to the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children
  • Driving licence and access to a car with business insurance

 

The position is subject to enhanced DBS check and to Police Vetting.
