Job Description

Role: Learning and Development Officer

Salary: £16,608 per annum

An opportunity is available for a part time Learning and Development Officer to join our team.

The Learning and Development Officer will be line managed by the Head of Advocacy and Support. The post is part of a wider team delivering a range of support services to victims of sexual violence.

The Learning and Development Officer position comes with a salary of £16,608 per annum (£27,681 full time equivalent), a flexible working scheme, ongoing skills development and training, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays per annum and a company pension scheme.

The role is 22.5 hours per week to be worked over 3 days and is covering the whole of Derbyshire.

The Organisation:

The Organisation is a Charity supporting victims of sexual violence across Derbyshire. The aims of the Charity are; to reduce the impact of rape and sexual abuse on victims (male and female) and their families; to encourage reporting of rape and sexual abuse, if appropriate; to support victims through the criminal justice process and; to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual abuse by raising awareness. 

We are now looking for a dynamic Learning and Development Officer to join our team.

Learning and Development Officer Main Duties:

  • To design, create and deliver educational packages to partner agencies around sexual violence.
  • To provide information and education to children, young people and their families that supports and enhances the healthy relationships curriculum in educational provisions.
  • Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other training. 
  • To effectively identify educational opportunities and promote the service.
  • To keep up to date with best practice in learning and development, training practice/methods and e-learning development.
  • Provide one to one and group support to professionals accessing the organisations e-learning, once established.
  • Respond to safeguarding issues and liaise with staff in accordance with the organisations safeguarding policies.
  • Develop positive relationships with partners such as the police, mental health services, education providers, local authority social care and Multi-Agency Teams (MATs) and other voluntary organisations.
  • Provide information and training to a range of audiences on issues related to rape and sexual abuse.
  • Raise awareness of services in line with SV2’s Communications Strategy.
  • Attend regular line management, peer supervision and team meetings, as required.

Learning and Development Officer Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of five GCSEs Grade C or above or higher level educational qualification(s)
  • Hold a recognised training qualification
  • At least 1 year’s direct practice in the design and delivery of training programmes
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment with professional boundaries
  • Ability to review and evaluate learning resources and adapt materials as required
  • Ability to research and map educational opportunities
  • Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport which will need to be insured for business use.
