Role: SARC Delivery Manager

Salary: £33,636 per annum


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SARC Delivery Manager to be a part of our developing team at a dynamic and professional charity. The SARC Delivery Manager will report to the Head of Advocacy and Support.


The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality, specialist service to victims of sexual violence and the postholder is responsible for ensuring smooth operational delivery of SV2’s forensic medical examination service and its support processes. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring adherence to key forensic standards and CQC standards of Quality and Safety, as they develop and in line with current best practice.


The SARC Deliver Manager must demonstrate well developed leadership skills, decisive operational accountability and an ability to work in the absence of senior management.


This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week (will also consider 30 hours per week), Monday to Friday. The role is based mainly at our office in Alfreton but travel to other sites will be required. This is a fixed term position until 31st March 2023.


The SARC Delivery Manager position comes with a salary of £33,636 per annum, a flexible working scheme, ongoing skills development and training, an enhanced annual leave scheme and a company pension scheme.


The Organisation:

The Organisation is a Charity supporting victims of sexual violence across Derbyshire. The aims of the Charity are; to reduce the impact of rape and sexual abuse on victims (male and female) and their families; to encourage reporting of rape and sexual abuse, if appropriate; to support victims through the criminal justice process and; to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual abuse by raising awareness. 


We are now looking for a dynamic SARC Delivery Manager to oversee effective delivery of the SARC Services.


SARC Delivery Manager Main Duties:

  • Provide the direct line management for the Crisis Work Team including induction, training, line management meetings and appraisals and ensure staff attendance at clinical supervision
  • To support a team of Crisis Workers to provide 24-hour support to individuals who have recently experienced rape and or sexual assault and who may or may not wish to make a report to the police. This includes producing a monthly on call rota
  • The post holder will provide emotional support and advocate for clients attending the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for a forensic medical examination, if required during office hours; Monday to Friday
  • To ensure appropriate services are delivered which meet the required forensic standards and to meet the emotional needs of clients attending the SARC for forensic examination regardless of age, culture, gender, race and religion
  • Monitor SARC records and services to ensure quality
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities to the Senior Management Team
  • Responsible for ensuring thorough cleaning of the medical suites to maintain the forensic integrity of the SARC
  • To respond to safeguarding issues and liaise with staff in accordance with SV2’s safeguarding policies
  • Monitor, maintain, plan and prioritise own work and client load
  • Work with the staff team to develop SARC services and systems and update the Crisis Worker Handbook as appropriate
  • Develop and provide training to staff in relation to the SARC service and other relevant organisational training
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills relevant to this area of work which meet the needs of the organisation, client group and sexual offence legislation
  • Participate in training activities and the production of training programmes, as required
  • Monitor and ensure all record client contact is recorded and activity on the Organisation’s secure database as required by SV2
  • Monitor, record and evaluate any project activity as above and report activity to the Head of Advocacy and Support
  • Ensure the communication network between agencies and SV2 is effective

and maintain and develop good working relationships with relevant agencies

  • To adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics adopted by SV2.


SARC Delivery Manager Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to Degree level or significant experience of project management (ideally working in a related sector) (E)
  • A proven track record working in a quality assurance role including data collection, analysis and problem solving (E)
  • Experience in managing and supporting staff in a quality assurance context to deliver services effectively (E)
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency setting (E)
  • Track record of effective collaboration (E)
  • Ability to focus, with attention to detail (E)
  • Ability to collect and analyse data (E)
  • Able to conduct problem analysis and problem solving  and implement effective outcome based interventions  (E)
  • Good planning and organising skills (E)
  • Able to maintain professional, well written and comprehensive notes and write formal reports (E)
  • Competent use of IT i.e. Word, Outlook, Gmail, Excel, PowerPoint, etc (E)
  • Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport which will need to be insured for business use (E)
