Job Description

We are an established Charity offering support and counselling throughout the whole of Derbyshire to any gender who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any point in their life.

Due to the recent demand in services, we are looking to recruit Sub-contracted Therapists to cover the North Derbyshire and High Peaks area.

The successful applicants will already have counselling rooms available and will have an idea of how many clients they can work with. 

The fee per attended session is £30 (no fee for cancelled or DNA’d sessions).

Depending on experience, Company training may be offered over a number of days after which sub-contracted therapists will provide counselling to individuals aged 14+ following sexual violence or childhood sexual abuse.

To apply for this post you will need:

  • At least 550 hours post qualifying counselling practice, supervised by a qualified supervisor.
  • Extensive knowledge & awareness of rape, sexual abuse, rape trauma syndrome and their effects within the therapeutic setting. 
  • Knowledge and awareness of the impact of trauma and vicarious trauma, and an understanding of crisis management.
  • Registration with UKCP/BACP or similar.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
  • Excellent all round communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, actively engaging in peer support, training and skills development.
  • The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory police vetting.
