Are you looking to develop your admin skills while gaining experience within a health charity? We are looking for a motivated, confident and personable individual to assist with the successful delivery of a wide range of support and awareness activities including our Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month campaign. The role will be involved in all aspects of the Supportive Services team’s work, supporting women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their family and friends and raising vital awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. This will include the prompt distribution of our awareness and support information and publications, assisting with the administration of our face-to-face support events and being part of the first responders team within the office, responding to phone calls and emails from a range of people including health professionals, women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their relatives.
You will be reliable, hard-working and looking to gain experience either in a health charity or of more general office-based work. You will have an excellent telephone manner and be empathetic, tactful and considerate as many of our supporters you engage with will have had direct experience of ovarian cancer.
The charity: Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity. We are dynamic, fast moving and dedicated to achieving a long and good life for every woman with ovarian cancer. We work to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer.
Our work is distinctive because we tackle the three biggest barriers to progress – late diagnosis, the lack of new treatments, and the isolation so often felt by women. A truly rewarding place to work, our greatest strengths are our enthusiastic and committed team and the amazing women we work with and support.
Our goal is to double survival from ovarian cancer by 2050; our clear strategic plans and track record of success demonstrate our determination to succeed. Together we can transform the future for women with ovarian cancer.
