Job description

Sister charities, TaxAid (London) and Tax Help for Older People (Bridport, Dorset) are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative individual looking to take the next step in their Communications career. This new role offers the chance to shape a Communications and Marketing programme through powerful B2B campaigns utilising social media, digital collateral and impactful audio-visual content.


You will care about helping people in poverty. You will need strong written and organisational skills and some experience in a communications role. You will have a good understanding of how to communicate with a wide range of audiences including high-achieving professionals. You will need excellent interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with our referring partners, the media and our senior level network and assisting with events. Attention to detail is vital to maintain our high brand standards and analytical ability is also required to evaluate and report on the outcome of our communications across all media. You will have the opportunity to use your keen eye and creative instincts to develop and test your communications ideas and initiatives.


The Communications Officer will report to the Director of Fundraising and work closely with the new role of Community Engagement Manager as we shape our Marketing and Communications strategy together.
This is a new role for TaxAid and Tax Help for Older People and offers an excellent opportunity to make a mark through a new proactive Communications and PR programme.


You will be involved in a broad level of Communications as well as Marketing which includes PR, writing, editing, proof reading and co-ordination of internal and external publications, leaflets, marketing and other documents. You will need excellent writing/editing skills with the ability to communicate technical or complex information in a clear, engaging way. You will be a confident user of digital channels and a passionate advocate for innovation and new ideas. This is a role that offers responsibility and autonomy as a member of a small team

The role will be based at home with an expectation of some travel to the TaxAid and Tax Help offices or it can be based at either office.
