This role is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to understand what being a kinship carer actually means, what choices are available to them and how to access the information and advice they need for their kinship families in England. 

You’ll facilitate our online introductory training workshops for kinship carers, alongside a kinship experienced colleague. 

You’ll join a new team – Advice, Training and Information who will be resolute about creating a positive and impactful learning experience for all kinship carers in England. 

A strong facilitator and communicator, you will need to be (or become) a Zoom whizz, confident in using breakout rooms and all the extras, calm under pressure (sometimes technology lets us down) and able to deliver exceptional online workshops and training to small and large audiences. We’ll also ask you to support one-off in person training occasionally. 

Being interactive, engaging and able to read the ‘online’ room are essentials for this role. You’ll be curious – and always thinking about how you can improve your delivery and the experience for kinship carers. We’re building a team who is open, focused on the needs of kinship carers and who are looking to continuously and positively improve. 

As part of this new training service, you’ll receive all the training and development to support you to succeed in this role. This may include overnight stays as part of induction and training. 

What you’ll need to achieve in this role:

Key responsibilities:

· Deliver and lead exceptional online introductory training workshops to kinship carers in England (individual target - between 40-50 over a 12-month period). Confident and frictionless use of Zoom (including breakout rooms and other tools) to deliver a high-quality training experience. 

· Consistent approach across training experiences, following manualisation processes. 

· An in-depth understanding of kinship care in England (we’ll provide training and support). 

· Ensure KPIs for service delivery (including feedback and evaluation) are met including kinship carer experiences (90% service user satisfaction). 

· Occasional face-to-face training delivery (for regional roadshows where appropriate). 

· Ongoing continuous development of training resources and delivery using insight, data and participation from kinship carers. 

· Ensure training is accessible and adapted as required. 

· Be comfortable being a ‘face’ for the service in promotion and online resources. 

· Take part in creating online content, including being confident in front of the camera to produce video and verbal content to add to our online resources, advice and guidance. 

· Contribute to online resources as required. 

· Take accountability for using Salesforce effectively as our case management system to support service delivery learning, high performance and evaluation. Ensure excellent administration in your delivery, keeping to deadlines. 

· Work closely with Advice Service, Peer Support Service and Programmes teams to create onward referral pathways. 

· Work with local authority partners to create regional content for online introductory training workshops. 

· Ensure tone of voice, language and brand are in line with Kinship guidelines. Contribute positive active learning and proactively create opportunities to understand kinship carers needs for training (using learning logs). 

· Contribute to case studies demonstrating impact of training services alongside ongoing insight to influence policy and campaigning development. 

· Actively contribute to delivering high performance across the team. Commitment to personal development.

Working requirements, salary & benefits

• Salary: from £22,000 
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
• One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years.

Could you be our next Snow Camp Midlands Programme Manager? 

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.

This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in the Midlands. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you! 

Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.

This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

The Role

The Environmental Education Tutor a key role in the multidisciplinary Education team, supporting all areas of work, from school visits to community engagement with young adults and families. You will lead and engage groups from early years to adults through three education programmes: Earth School, Earth Skills and Earth Explorers.

This role has co-responsibility for the coordination of the Earth Skills programme, working with young people with special educational needs on an Open College Network accredited course.

Accountabilities include:

• Working with the Environmental Education Manager to continue developing the STEM focused Earth School content

• Co-responsibility for the administration, coordination, and delivery of the Countryside Skills programme

Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are looking to recruit a fantastic new North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support to join our North West team on a 4 day a week contract (30 hrs).

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports and will be responsible for the delivery of our wellbeing workshops and providing 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the North West team to assist with the planning and delivery of snowsports and life-skills focused youth activities run by the Programme Manager and assist with the apprenticeship programme throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supporting young people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Youth work, wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managing relationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of delivering group workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Job Description

• You will spend roughly 2.5 days will be in the Wellbeing Manager role and 1.5 days will be in the Programme Support role each week.
• In consultation with the Programme Manager, to manage the delivery of the Wellbeing Workshops and 1to1 mentoring support needed for young people and apprentices.
• Work with the programme manager to gain the young people’s trust and confidence.
• To assist with delivery and development of The North West’s full snowsports focused journey of youth programmes which take place at Chill Factore.
• Build a good relationship with the North West Programme Manager to help provide support and guidance to young people.
• Support with the management of (currently) 3 x North West apprentices on their 1-year Snow Camp Apprenticeship programme. particularly helping to manage their wellbeing and signpost to other services where needed.
• Ensuring the apprentices have clear personal development plans and objectives.
• Provide effective and inspiring leadership to apprentices and young people.
• Providing weekly 1to1 support sessions for each apprentice.
• Having an understanding and an involvement in the development of their weekly working rotas.
• Supporting with NVQ work & assisting with any challenges that may be faced.
• Ensuring apprentices are involved and supported working on all Snow Camp programmes as the North West staff team.
• Complete Personal Development Plans and Wellbeing Assessments as required with apprentices.
• Attend regular meetings with the other regional Wellbeing Managers to provide a consistent approach and building resources focused on improving young people’s wellbeing.
• Outside of programme days, provide one-to-one mentoring sessions to young people, in-person or remotely, focusing on their well-being and offering support so they can cope with the Snow Camp programme and improve their general wellbeing.
• Be a key team member on the overseas residential for the Excel programme during the Easter holidays. *Valid passport for travel in Europe & Andorra required.
• Use our UPSHOT online database system to keep records and ensure all monitoring and evaluation is carried out.
• Attend external training as required (e.g. Safeguarding and Mental Health Awareness tutor training courses).
• Ensure that all activities and provision you deliver is done safely and in line with organisational policies.
• Support the Programme Manager to ensure all programmes run smoothly and effectively by supporting the delivery of each programme – managing venue instructors, guest speakers, apprentices, youth staff, sessional staff and volunteers as required.
• Support the Programme Manager with recruiting young people for each programme through visits to youth projects, promotion through email to all relevant youth programmes and services and presenting at key stakeholder meetings on youth service provision. Finding new young people in the North West area to support by Snow-Camp will be key.
• Support the Programme Manager with programme administration including finances, SLAs, attendance records, risk assessments, bookings and young people’s records on Upshot.
• Support with management and delivery of trips and overseas residential’s (Snow-Camp Excel, Apprenticeship & Youth Forum Residential’s) as part of Snow-Camp programmes. Including support with all the necessary risk assessments.
• Additional tasks may vary depending on different opportunities throughout the year.

Essential Criteria

Management and support

The North West Wellbeing Manager & Programme Support will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports Morv Bett who will provide support and guidance.

The Trustee board will determine the overall direction of Snow Camp and will set the overall priorities in consultation with the Director and Senior Team.

Conditions of Service

The North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support must be prepared to work regular evenings, weekends and with occasional weeks away. Snow Camp operates flextime system. Work patterns will change depending on time of year and programme being delivered.

Hours: 30 hours a week (4 days) includes some evenings & weekends

Location: Programmes delivered at Chill Factore, Manchester. Office based in Crewe and some travel around North West to visit youth projects is required. This is a hybrid post with work from home opportunities each week.

Salary: £27,500 pro-rata based on full time equivalent (this includes a 10% bonus paid annually in July each year)

Advocate

After a strong period of growth and additional funding, we now have an opportunity for an experienced Advocate to join team!

You will focus on carrying regular outreach across Leeds, along with working with local partners, services and third sector projects to find Gypsies and Travellers in the Leeds area. Outreach will cover roadside camps, private yards and people in homes.

This role and project represent the first step in working with Gypsies and Travellers in Leeds.

Position: Advocate

Location: Leeds/hybrid (work will include delivering outreach across Leeds)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £24,829 per annum pro rata

Contract: initial 12-month contract with possibility to extend subject to funding

The Role

You will be working holistically to support the community with a wide range of needs having a focus on members with complex needs and with families who require educational support. You will be helping members to develop the necessary skills to self-advocate through providing information, signposting and support.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Advocacy - to provide members with daily accessible and equitable advocacy appointments. Topics may include welfare rights and entitlement, housing rights and support, health and wellbeing including mental health and equalities and justice
• Project and administration management
• Risk Management, to ensure good management within all the work particularly that all activities are risk assessed, safe and inclusive and follow processes and policies
• Partnerships, including building and maintaining a wide network of partner and services in support of advocacy delivery and community development

About You

We are looking for someone with knowledge of relevant legislation and rights, for example in relation to housing, welfare, family, health and equalities

You will have experience of working with:

• Groups or individuals experiencing exclusion and the barriers they face when accessing services
• Vulnerable people
• Safeguarding frameworks – making decisions and sharing information

About this key role

Working as part of a larger Trainer and Assessor team, our successful candidate will work with allocated learners to produce realistic assessment plans, assessing learners using a range of assessment methods appropriate for the vocational qualification assessment criteria, and provide vital one-to-one support to learners as appropriate, ensuring you monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, and produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process.  You will be expected to deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing practical help such as social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work and debt advice. 

We will also rely on you to develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the scheme, and with regional agencies, including police and social services.  Closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future, is also an essential aspect of this role. 

What we are looking for

• To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Bradford
• Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
• Experience of engaging successfully with people with challenging or complex needs
• To have a relevant qualification to a good standard, or be working towards one
• Sound knowledge of ‘County Lines’ and the Government’s Prevent programme 
• Knowledge of services for offenders and patterns of offending in Leeds borough/s
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.
