About this key role
As a Settling in Facilitator, you will be embedded within a prison-based setting and provide a quality service to people first entering prison. We will count on you to prepare, plan, and deliver the emotional resilience interactive sessions to individuals in prison, ensuring all sessions are appropriate and contextualised to reflect the local needs of the prison and its changing population and utilising expertise around lived experience and local knowledge to empower people in prison.
You will also be expected to deliver additional tailored sessions to individuals who are unable to attend the group sessions or require additional support and to use a trauma-informed approach to build trust and create a safe space for people in prison to explore challenging and potentially traumatic issues and topics.
What we are looking for
• Personal experience of the social care system; criminal justice system; or lived experience of the issues facing this client group. However, we also encourage applications from those without lived experience.
• The ability to build positive relationships with people in prison and be comfortable and confident working in the prison environment.
• A professionally competent approach and confidence facilitating group sessions, as well as being able to tailor the support given to meet the needs of people in prison.
• An invested interest in supporting people in prison to develop healthy coping strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.

About the role
We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. A new training contract with the Department for Education will support this outcome.
This role is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to understand what being a kinship carer actually means, what choices are available to them and how to access the information and advice they need for their kinship families in England.
You’ll facilitate our online introductory training workshops for kinship carers, alongside a kinship experienced colleague.
You’ll join a new team – Advice, Training and Information who will be resolute about creating a positive and impactful learning experience for all kinship carers in England.
A strong facilitator and communicator, you will need to be (or become) a Zoom whizz, confident in using breakout rooms and all the extras, calm under pressure (sometimes technology lets us down) and able to deliver exceptional online workshops and training to small and large audiences. We’ll also ask you to support one-off in person training occasionally.
Being interactive, engaging and able to read the ‘online’ room are essentials for this role. You’ll be curious – and always thinking about how you can improve your delivery and the experience for kinship carers. We’re building a team who is open, focused on the needs of kinship carers and who are looking to continuously and positively improve.
As part of this new training service, you’ll receive all the training and development to support you to succeed in this role. This may include overnight stays as part of induction and training.
What you’ll need to achieve in this role:
Key responsibilities:
· Deliver and lead exceptional online introductory training workshops to kinship carers in England (individual target - between 40-50 over a 12-month period). Confident and frictionless use of Zoom (including breakout rooms and other tools) to deliver a high-quality training experience.
· Consistent approach across training experiences, following manualisation processes.
· An in-depth understanding of kinship care in England (we’ll provide training and support).
· Ensure KPIs for service delivery (including feedback and evaluation) are met including kinship carer experiences (90% service user satisfaction).
· Occasional face-to-face training delivery (for regional roadshows where appropriate).
· Ongoing continuous development of training resources and delivery using insight, data and participation from kinship carers.
· Ensure training is accessible and adapted as required.
· Be comfortable being a ‘face’ for the service in promotion and online resources.
· Take part in creating online content, including being confident in front of the camera to produce video and verbal content to add to our online resources, advice and guidance.
· Contribute to online resources as required.
· Take accountability for using Salesforce effectively as our case management system to support service delivery learning, high performance and evaluation. Ensure excellent administration in your delivery, keeping to deadlines.
· Work closely with Advice Service, Peer Support Service and Programmes teams to create onward referral pathways.
· Work with local authority partners to create regional content for online introductory training workshops.
· Ensure tone of voice, language and brand are in line with Kinship guidelines. Contribute positive active learning and proactively create opportunities to understand kinship carers needs for training (using learning logs).
· Contribute to case studies demonstrating impact of training services alongside ongoing insight to influence policy and campaigning development.
· Actively contribute to delivering high performance across the team. Commitment to personal development.

If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a highly organised Embedded Mentor to work within education settings to deliver the St Giles SOS+ service as part of the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) Trusted Adult Project. Here, you will combine your lived experience of overcoming similar barriers to the client group of at-risk young people, already within or at high risk of entering the criminal justice system, with your professional experience to provide crucial guidance, support, and mentorship.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people to overcome challenges, set and achieve academic and personal goals, and make informed positive choices that reduce their risk of offending and entry into the criminal justice system. Your main focus will be the delivery of the SOS+ Embedded Mentor Programme to targeted at risk students, however you will also be expected to establish and maintain positive relationships with students to provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship and address individual student needs and challenges – utilising personal experiences, local knowledge, professional skills and SOS+ materials to offer support and intervention.
We will also rely on you collaborate with professionals to support and develop strategies to minimise the risk to students and to maintain a trauma informed approach at all times, while supporting or co-delivering whole school awareness sessions; professional sessions; and parent/carer sessions is also an essential element of the role.

After a strong period of growth and additional funding, we now have an opportunity for an experienced Advocate to join team!
You will focus on carrying regular outreach across Leeds, along with working with local partners, services and third sector projects to find Gypsies and Travellers in the Leeds area. Outreach will cover roadside camps, private yards and people in homes.
This role and project represent the first step in working with Gypsies and Travellers in Leeds.
Position: Advocate

The Role
You will be working holistically to support the community with a wide range of needs having a focus on members with complex needs and with families who require educational support. You will be helping members to develop the necessary skills to self-advocate through providing information, signposting and support.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Advocacy - to provide members with daily accessible and equitable advocacy appointments. Topics may include welfare rights and entitlement, housing rights and support, health and wellbeing including mental health and equalities and justice

- Partnerships, including building and maintaining a wide network of partner and services in support of advocacy delivery and community development

About this key role
Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, and produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process. You will be expected to deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing practical help such as social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work and debt advice.
We will also rely on you to develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the scheme, and with regional agencies, including police and social services. Closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future, is also an essential aspect of this role.
What we are looking for
- To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Bradford
- Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
- Experience of engaging successfully with people with challenging or complex needs
- To have a relevant qualification to a good standard, or be working towards one
- Sound knowledge of ‘County Lines’ and the Government’s Prevent programme

About this pivotal role

As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison. This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.
We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.
