Job Summary
Learning Support Assistants support PiP’s Development Workers to deliver a flexible programme of learning and development opportunities; ensuring that students can actively participate and engage in sessions, giving student’s maximum opportunity to learn and develop.
PiP’s programmes focus on four learning pathways:
- Independent Living Skills
- Creative and Performing Arts
- Health, Wellbeing and Happiness
- Employment and Vocational Skills
The role incorporates session delivery, recording and monitoring student progress, key working responsibilities such as liaising with student’s support networks and involvement in PiP’s wider work.

We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Foston Hall (subject to contract award). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy programme at HMP Foston Hall, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. Abbots Bank is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in.
Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. About this key role

Role Summary
The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. These include the production of resources and online courses for teachers and their learners which are made available on our website, Into Film+ (our video-on-demand platform) and on our learning platform.
Main Responsibilities
- To produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients.
- To contribute to the planning and evaluation of resources within our three key areas of work: Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Filmmaking
- To project manage the resource process from initiation to publication or delivery.
- To assist the corporate partnerships team by contributing to pitches for educational resources with partners to support new film releases.
- To contribute to the development of courses aimed at educators via our online learning platform.
- To evaluate resources, training, online materials and related areas of organisational interest through surveys, focus groups and other methods, to identify and implement changes and programme developments that meet Into Film’s and our audiences’ needs and priorities.
- To develop, with the rest of the team, reliable quality assurance processes and documentation for our resources, training and online programmes.
- To carry out external and internal training to a range of staff and stakeholders, including supporting internal staff with advice and information.

Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience of teaching in the UK.
- Experience of creating resources which include moving image/film.
- Knowledge of the educational landscape across all four UK nations.
- Demonstrable creativity and commitment to making resources and training interesting and exciting for teachers/educators and students/young people.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to write accurately and correctly, and the ability to persuade and influence others and feedback ideas in a professional manner.
- Experience of chairing and guiding meetings.
- Experience of managing a range of projects, from initiation to completion, working with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
- Commitment to film as a powerful tool for education, both as a cultural art form and to engage young people and raise attainment.
- Current knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Desirable
- Experience in creating resources or opportunities which support young people’s careers education.
- Experience of filmmaking with young people.

Reading Community Learning Centre is an independent charity which provides education and support for women from minority ethnic communities who may be unable to access more mainstream services because of the educational, social or cultural barriers they face.
We are looking for a qualified female ESOL tutor with at least 1 year’s teaching experience to teach ESOL to ethnic minority migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women with English as a second language (each course is 10 weeks per term). You should also have relevant occupational competence and professional teaching qualifications that enable you to support adult learners to develop their skills, confidence and knowledge in English language and make progress.
You should be passionate about supporting others, have strong communication skills and should have experience of delivering accredited qualifications as well as recording and recognising progress and achievement using a standardised tool.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all RCLC’s Policies and Procedures
- Attend Induction and other training as agreed with the line manager.
- Teach for an agreed number of hours as laid down in the contract provided.
- Complete all the necessary preparation to deliver courses to the required standard.
- Complete all the course paperwork associated with the delivery of the course to the required standard.
- Support and encourage active learning that builds on learners’ existing skills and experience; evaluate the effectiveness of learning; keep records of learners’ progress and give learners appropriate and supportive feedback.
- Support the ethos of the organisation in creating a working environment of mutual respect, tolerance and support for the values of equality and diversity.
- Work collaboratively with other members of RCLC staff, volunteers and Board members, and with the staff from other organisations based at the Centre.
