The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.

Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.
This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

You will oversee the annual programme of BJAA trainings in collaboration with the Training (TC), the Postgraduate Committee (PGC) and New Approaches to Theory (NAT) group. You will also oversee selection coordination for Intensive, Modified Entry Scheme and psychotherapy trainings.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3000 children in 2023-24.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a West Cumbria Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able to both motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently around West Cumbria. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
• Create monthly data summaries for all participating classrooms
• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools
• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required
• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary
• Liaison with corporate partners as required
• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team
• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme

ABOUT THE ROLE
With a UK General Election due within the next 10 months, there are going to be more opportunities than ever for young people to better understand and participate in the democratic system.
The post holder will manage our ‘Exploring Elections’ programme which supports young people to register to vote in schools and colleges. The post holder will recruit and manage a network of freelance facilitators to deliver in-person voter registration workshops and events. This role will also include some delivery of in-person and online presentations and workshops to support young people to register to vote and to vote.
You will also work with the Director and Democracy Classroom Project Coordinator to support the delivery of training for teachers and youth practitioners so they can help their young people engage in the General Election and democracy.
The post holder will:
- Recruit, manage and support a group of freelance facilitators across the UK who will deliver voter registration activities.
- Deliver in-person and online workshops and assemblies for young people.
- Support the delivery of training for teachers and youth practitioners.
- Support the recruitment of teachers and schools to take part in voter registration activities.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with our network of teachers and youth practitioners.
- Line manage a Programme Coordinator who works on voter registration programmes and projects.
- Manage and keep up to date the database, producing reports when required.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Complete administrative tasks for the projects and programmes you oversee.
The job is based on a fixed term 6 month contract (including a 3-month probation period), with opportunities for extension.
The Politics Project is based in London and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week, as well as delivering in schools and colleges as required. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.

You will have experience and a good understanding of education issues that may impact families. In-depth knowledge of the SEND law in England Part 3 Children and Families Act 2014 and a working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015. You will be able to confidently navigate websites to identify relevant information. You will have experience of using a CRM database to enter client records. You will be flexible and adaptable in your role and enjoy working in a friendly and supportive team.

Main purpose and scope of Role

PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.

- Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.

Your new role / purpose of the post
To deliver a successful and newly established creative learning and participation offer for the Authorities Art Gallery.
To ensure engagement with a wide range of audiences and make a positive contribution to the knowledge of the City's history and assets, particularly amongst families and young people, driving audiences at weekends and at times when the City is less busy.
To support the Events Manager to develop new creative and engaging opportunities for participation in a high profile program and deliver high-quality engagement experiences.
Key skills and experience required
- Support the Events Manager to develop and create an exciting, ambitious and original creative learning programme, with the objective to maximise opportunities for engagement with a wide range of audiences, especially young people and families.
- Deliver a year-round programme of creative learning opportunities which culminate in showcase opportunities in the regular annual events calendar and/or as part of a major event, ensuring the projects are of the highest quality and have maximum impact.
- Focus activity at weekends and during school holidays when the City is less busy and the target audiences specified above may be better engaged.
- Support the Event Manager to deliver specific participation and engagement opportunities linked to specific events or shows, with many of these occurring at weekends and on Bank Holidays.
- Work with the Head of Gallery and Amphitheatre to develop and create a creative learning offer for the Gallery, connecting with the wider Programme and delivering against Gallery specific themes (eg exhibitions and the collection); drive event audience footfall into the venue through an attractive and engaging participation package, focused on young people and families.
- Review and revise the Galleries schools programme to ensure the offer is aligned to the wider Programme and that exhibitions and the Gallery's collection are reflected in wider education work as well as at the Gallery. Working with the Events Manager, procure workshop leaders for gallery schools' activity.
- Actively contribute to the development and creation of creative learning projects, workshops and programmes for both current and prospective audiences in line with the strategic vision, including developing budgets, project plans and key aims and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver paid-for learning and engagement sessions across the City's heritage assets, driving revenues. Similarly, explore revenue opportunities for delivering a financial return across the remit of this role.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders from the local community including, but not limited to, London community groups, formal and informal education sector organisations, arts and non-arts organisations, and City businesses.
- Coordinate and implement a varied creative learning programme, including but not restricted to:
- Engaging with artists and facilitators to deliver work.
- Planning and delivering high-quality arts and education-based workshops and events, noting that this will include the procurement of workshop leaders as appropriate.
- Coordinating production, technical, infrastructure and materials requirements, drawing on the Events Officer roles and freelance technical and production teams where necessary.
- Completing risk assessments and necessary paperwork to ensure compliance.
- Fielding all enquiries regarding the creative learning programme and managing the booking process for any activity.
- Managing a database of participants and ensuring regular communication to retain engagement.
- Ensure the creative learning offer meets all legal and regulatory controls and measures, particularly in relevance to working with young people.
- Act as the Safeguarding Lead
- Identify and execute marketing activity for the creative learning programme, working closely with the Content Team to design and produce required marketing assets.
- Champion creativity, the arts and culture in communities and engage participants within the overarching context of the Programme.
What you'll need to succeed
- A track record of excellence in developing and delivering creative participatory programmes.
- Experience of working with or engaging young people and families in programmes/projects in either an arts, museum, heritage, school or equivalent setting.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and the latest initiatives in heritage education.
- Good experience gained in a cultural role, planning and coordinating projects, including compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Experience of successfully managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, e.g. local authorities, suppliers, artists, facilitators and corporate and community partners.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team and on one's own with minimum supervision, using initiative with accuracy.

The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise working to lift people out of poverty. St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing Services for North and South Wales. These services will involve a range of support to community offenders and prison leavers including families, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and associates and social inclusion (including meet at the gates).
About this exciting opportunity
Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison. You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.
We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales. Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
- L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
- The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
- An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
- Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
