The Theology and Network Engagement Team are responsible for the development and application of Tearfund's theology in its work around the world. The team sustains and strengthens Tearfund's identity and work as a Christian development organisation through theological reflection on key issues of poverty and injustice, and by growing the organisation's relationships with church networks, organisations and denominations around the world. It also ensures that Tearfund's work is Christ-centred and kingdom-seeking in ways that are sustainable, culturally relevant and appropriate, and consistent with the standards and practices we adhere to as an organisation.
Tearfund is looking for someone who can lead and manage the Theology and Network Engagement Team. You will be able to lead a diverse team of people and have excellent management skills. You will be well-organised and flexible, and able to work collaboratively and cross-culturally. The post-holder will be engaged with all aspects of Tearfund's theology work.
We are looking for a self-motivated, driven individual with extensive experience in the following areas:
- Team leadership and development
- Strategic planning and implementation
- Theological training and practical experience of theological research
- The desire and ability to engage with different theological perspectives
You will be joining a vibrant team working to see the church's understanding of holistic mission grow and thrive, responding to poverty, injustice and the environmental crisis.
This role is based in our Teddington office, 35 hours per week
All applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs. International travel is a requirement, up to 6 weeks a year
