Job description

Teenage Cancer Trust create world-class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone. They are now looking for a new Deputy Director of Public Fundraising to deliver significant income growth across all areas of Public Fundraising and to drive and implement their fundraising strategy to help them increase and deepen their impact for all young people with cancer in the UK, now and in the future.

Famous for its annual Royal Albert Hall concerts featuring some of the world’s biggest names in music and comedy, Teenage Cancer Trust offer services that put the needs of young people first and allow them to face the particular set of challenges that come with having cancer at a young age together.

The charity is looking to establish a new, significant and innovative Public Fundraising and Individual Giving programme at the Trust using a direct marketing led approach. The role will be responsible for leading the strategic development of a broad range of public fundraising activities raising millions of pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust, setting strategic goals and translating these into insight-led, profitable and engaging mass market supporter relationships.

The Trust is looking for an exceptional, inspiring professional with a proven track record in fundraising leadership across a range of public fundraising streams and with proven success in innovation and driving significant income growth across a multi-million pound portfolio. You will have a strong working knowledge of a wide range of fundraising activities and demonstrable experience of leading a complex multi-channel direct marketing programme within a charity setting.

Finally, you will be a skilled networker and a natural collaborator with outstanding senior leadership and line management skills, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity that is full of energy and packs a big punch, with a clearly defined brand and some great building blocks and talented, experienced teams already in place. For an informal conversation prior to applying to this role, please contact Anton Packheiser +44 (0) 7749 858597 or Suzie Spooner on +44 (0) 7960 932 315.
