About Tempo

Tempo is a rapidly-growing social enterprise with huge ambition. Our work builds strong, resilient communities and gives people the tools to make real, lasting changes in their lives.

Tempo works to enable more people to volunteer in their communities, because giving your time and feeling valued improves health, happiness and future prospects. We do this with Time Credits, one of the world’s largest time-based community currencies. People earn Time Credits when they give their time and spend them on a wide range of activities they choose. Over 56,000 people have earned over 900,000 Time Credits so far, and we partner with over 1500 community organisations, public services and businesses.

Tempo are on a 5-year journey to becoming a nationwide organisation, enabling people from any community to get involved in Time Credits, join their community and access new opportunities. By 2023, we aim to have reached 250,000 people across England and Wales and see 2.5m Time Credits earned and spent.

You will lead on developing and supporting a network of partners from 3rd sector and public sectors to embed new ways in which people can give time.  Like everything at Tempo, the work is fast-moving, creative and varied and you’ll be integral to the design and development of a new region for a Tempo Time Credit network.

We have been working in partnership with Cornwall Council since September 2017 to develop a network at a local level by joining up the public, private and voluntary sectors. Cornwall Time Credits prioritises Cornwall’s most vulnerable residents and has built partnerships with organisations supporting individuals with complex needs.  Since the project began in 2017, 550 people have earned 7700 Time Credits, join us to support the next phase of this work.

You are proactive, self-motivated and passionate about communities and creating positive, lasting change building on the skills and assets of all. You can communicate effectively about the work of Tempo, build relationships quickly and work collaboratively to achieve goals. You are target driven, creative, enthusiastic and well organised, with the ability to stay on top of a varied and demanding workload.
