Gympanzees is a multi-award-winning Bristol-based charity. Our mission is to ensure all children and young people with a disability have access to regular exercise, play and friendship. We aim to open multiple exercise and play facilities around the country – the first of which will be in Bristol. This is an exciting time to join an ambitious team who will raise funds for the UK's first centre of its kind. 

Gympanzees is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Networking Fundraiser to join our team. This role is pivotal in expanding our network of supporters, donors, and partners to generate crucial funds in support of our mission. The ideal candidate will excel in building relationships, leveraging connections, and fostering collaborations with individuals and organisations passionate about promoting Gympanzees. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving fundraising efforts through strategic networking initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney.

This Early Intervention approach will enable young people to access support in a timely way within their own community and we will work collaboratively with the Hackney Super Youth Hub enabling a one stop shop experience for local young people.

We are looking for passionate and motivated Therapeutic Youth Workers who are committed to supporting positive change for local young people to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:

· Undertake 1:1, group, detached and outreach work with young people

· Provide one-to-one key-working up to 12 sessions, combining youth work values and principles with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to help address a wide range of issues that may impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing e.g. housing, employment, physical health, education, finances and relationships.

· Use a supportive, young person-centred approach. e.g. explaining what services are and what they do, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date, filling out forms together, making personal introductions, accompanying young people to initial meetings/sessions, being with them during phone calls etc.  

· To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.

· To maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans.

· Be an advocate for young people, supporting colleagues to understand adolescence, and how to engage with young people, particularly with concerns around:

o mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

o Supporting vulnerable groups who would not otherwise receive support (levelling-up).

o Improving children and young people’s engagement with EET.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

· QCF Level 3 Diploma in Youth work or equivalent and have experience of youth work in a youth work setting

· Experience of working with young people, delivering therapeutic groups and/or 1 to 1 interventions in a youth work or similar setting.

· To have an active interest in working with those affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact this has on their life.

· Experience of building positive, impactful relationships with young people responding to their needs

· Excellent, up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding needs and risks young people may face.

· Experienced in working as part of a safeguarding team around a child, i.e. Childrens services, education, CAMHS, etc

· Experience of working in with an outreach role, in the community and school settings.

· Confident working well independently as well as in a team setting.

· Ability to use own initiative and be able to respond to change as part of a pilot initiative.

· Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite (incl. Outlook and Word), with ability to accurately input sensitive data electronically

We are recruiting for a Fundraising Assistant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients

We are an ambitious Hospital charity with an exciting opportunity to join us on our team as a Fundraising Assistant, initially on a three month contract with potential to extend. 

We currently raise between £1-2m a year for East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust which has four sites local to Hertfordshire, including the Lister Hospital (Stevenage) and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (North London). We are proud to raise funds to enhance the care provided by our wonderful clinical colleagues and to contribute to a positive patient experience. About you

Ideally you will already have experience in an administration or customer service role and looking to start a career in fundraising. You will be looking for 20-37.5 hours a week and can work flexibly including some evenings and weekends to support at fundraising events. 

Main duties of the job

• Provide support to the department on a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with enquiries (postal, telephone, email, face to face), opening and sorting post.
• Work to build excellent relationships with donors to provide a high standard of customer care.
• Process one-off and regular donations ensuring procedures are followed and information is recorded correctly onto the database and thank you letters are sent.
• Work with cancer centre volunteers to support the team with administration tasks.
• To undertake specific fundraising projects and attend events as necessary or as required to support the department’s fundraising.
• To assist the fundraisers with administration of staff lottery, raffles and prize led promotion and fundraising as required.
• Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at internal and external events.
• Manage ‘Gift in Kind’ donations and our ‘Gift in Kind’ Campaigns.

As Digital Fundraising Manager (Individual Giving), you will develop and deliver digital plans to support sustainable income growth and individual donor acquisition and development. Working closely with other Individual Giving Fundraising Managers and agencies, you will use your digital expertise to ensure campaigns are targeted and effective. And it’s not just about fundraising today, you will help inform our future thinking from a digital perspective.

You will be an experienced digital fundraiser, with a track record in using your expertise to deliver successful campaigns. You will have experience of managing digital teams and agencies. You will be passionate about raising income to help end homelessness, and inspiring supporters.

Introducing Harington

Harington is an Ofsted registered specialist college based in North London rated good, working with around 52 young people with learning differences aged 16-25. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment, that delivers outstanding personalised education, learning, and support, which leads to further education, employment opportunities, and a fulfilling life for each of our students. 

We specialise in horticulture, retail and general employability. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes and supported internships that lead to vocational qualifications and achieving other aims. We support the wellbeing of our young people through providing mentoring, counselling, enrichment and other one-to-one support.

Our charity has two learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey. We also operate a gardening business and two charity shops, providing income for our charity, work experience placements for our students and employment for 14 young people. We work with local employers and partners to provide work experience and other opportunities for our students.

The Role

This is an exciting time to join the Harington, as we have recently appointed a new Principal/CEO. We want to ensure that the Harington is able to fulfil and secure its mission to benefit our young people, both now and into the future.

In the next year we will consolidate what we do well and seek to strengthen the areas where we could do better. The Interim COO will work with all stakeholders and closely with the Principal/CEO to review, plan and implement the necessary changes. The role is initially for 9 months, but it is anticipated that it will continue after the initial review and planning period.  

This Interim Chief Operating Officer role will:-

1)Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan and through the annual Operations Plan and Budget, and be responsible for measuring and evaluating progress against goals and targets

2)Drive excellence and efficiency across Finance, HR, Governance, Operations, and IT, strengthening and embedding the right policies, systems, processes, technology and infrastructure ensuring seamless execution and robust management of risk.

3)Manage our three commercial businesses (two charity shops and Harington Gardeners) so they meet our social, learning and business aims

4)Oversee Harington’s fundraising so we secure the income we need from trusts and foundations, individual donors and community fundraising

5)Ensure effective management of the buildings and estate of a multi-site organisation, and the support services required to provide a suitable and safe environment for learning and working, that meets the required health and safety standards

6) Ensure that all staff feel valued and supported, with effective management of staff, operations and administration

The person

 You are an exceptional senior leader that is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for young people with learning differences.

Working as part of the senior leadership and management team you will ensure that Harington is a safe environment where students can learn, work, thrive and grow. You will ensure our staff team is valued and supported, and our management team and trustees are kept up to date and fully informed.

You are an energetic, organised, and positive team player, similarly comfortable working independently. It is a very varied role and one that needs calm focus as well as spontaneity and initiative.

You are adept at getting to the root of an issue, finding the solution and making things run smoothly and efficiently.

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements and would consider 4 days a week or compressed hours.

Essential skills

• Successful senior leader within a medium sized organisation for a minimum of three years, with a results-proven track record
• Worked in charity and/or education setting
• Sound understanding of financial management, reporting and accounting systems
• Experience of successfully managing and implementing changes to improve the way things run
• Highly motivated and driven self-starter, able to adapt quickly when priorities change
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products and database management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in creating high-level reports and presentations
