We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Rapid Response Team. The Rapid Response team is a service funded by the Mayor of London to provide an emergency response to people sleeping rough in up to 25 London boroughs. The team plays a pivotal part in supporting the Mayor’s work to help homeless people get off the streets, back on to their feet and looking forward to a brighter future.
This is an exciting opportunity to move into managing a busy, high-profile service at the frontline of efforts to reduce rough sleeping in London. Your innovative management of this service will influence the future of service provision across London.
About the role
As a Senior Practitioner you will supervise and support night outreach workers, ensuring that we meet our targets of fast response times to those on these streets and that we deliver a high-quality service to rough sleepers.
You will work a mixture of nights and days on a rolling flexible rota that will include some weekends and bank holidays. You will accompany workers on shift to offer support and guidance as well as working remotely and from Thames Reach’s shared office space in East and South London.
You’ll need to be outcome focused and able to foster a culture of high performance and continual striving to improve upon successes throughout your team.
You will be:
· Organised and able organise the operations of a complex, busy service.
· A decisive and effective leader.
· An excellent communicator able to form and maintain effective working relationships.
· Able to recognise and confidently talk about best practise and its results to funders and other stakeholders.
· Able to directly manage staff and ensure the services finances are well managed.
