Job description

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues.

The Centre values diversity and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.

The Centre hosts and supports the UK Trauma Council (UKTC), a UK-wide platform bringing together expertise in research, practice, policy, and lived experience in the field of childhood trauma. The UKTC supports professionals, communities and policy-makers by developing resources, guidance, and training in responding to traumatic events that impact children and young people. Through this work, the UKTC aims to transform the quality of support available to children and young people should they experience trauma.

The post-holder will work closely with the Co-Directors to coordinate and oversee the entire UK Trauma Council (UKTC) programme of work. The role will require close collaboration and cross-working with all members of the UKTC team as well as members of other teams across the Centre. The post-holder will need a track record of successful programme management, knowledge of co-production processes that support meaningful participation, and experience of working with Experts by Experience within complex projects. This role requires independent working, self-starting initiative, and ability to work in a consultative and collaborative manner. The post-holder will need to show leadership and decision-making ability.

The purpose of this post is to manage:

  • the UKTC’s programme of work;
  • the UKTC project team;
  • fundraising budget, and reporting;
  • collaboration and influencing work.

Please email Recruitment at annafreud dot org with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note all our posts require candidates to have the Right to Work in the UK at the time of applying and we do not hold a sponsorship licence.
