We are looking for a new Communications Officer to raise awareness of lung disease, mobilise supporters and deliver our media strategy. This is a great opportunity for a media expert who is looking to take the next stage in the career.
One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment and care.
You will deliver an integrated social media and media relations service in Scotland which generates both reactive and proactive opportunities and raises the profile of Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation. Responding promptly and authoritatively to media requests, you will proactively identify and maximise media and social media opportunities across a range of outlets and channels.
You will be energetic and enthusiastic and bursting with ideas. Your work will convince both the public and decision makers to support our campaigns to reduce air pollution and invest in respiratory services in Scotland.
Interacting with colleagues at all levels and all teams across the organisation you will find this a great opportunity to develop your communications skills in a creative and energised workplace.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including our cycle-to-work scheme, 30 days annual leave (plus Scottish bank holidays), pension scheme and much more.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an organisation committed to supporting everyone whose life is changed by lung disease.
