The Bhopal Medical Appeal works with partner organisations in Bhopal, India to help alleviate the suffering of people affected by the world’s worst industrial accident and its aftermath.
This newly created position is an opportunity to fulfil a critical role within this medium-sized charity working to remedy an emblematic issue of environmental justice and corporate accountability. With a passionate focus on health, community, disability, education, economic and environmental rights, the charity combines national campaigns with international partnership obligations.
Working closely with the Appeal’s board of trustees, you have an exciting opportunity to assist in developing the charity’s growth and profile. You will take on oversight of the charity and also the day to day delivery of its operational activities. You will enable us to build on our successes to date and ensure that we continue to fulfil our vision and mission while preserving our core values. You will be dedicated to ensuring the charity’s sustainability and development.
You will have staff management, administrative, organisational, financial and fund-raising skills; a track record in developing and implementing strategy; demonstrable interest and motivation concerning issues of corporate conduct, health, disability and the environment in the global south.
With previous relevant experience, you are able to work with minimal supervision to meet your responsibilities as a key member of the team. You’re willing and able to engage with all key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You are proactive, organised and methodical, with an ability to grasp detail and complexity.
