Job description

The Big Issue Group is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead its’ Marketing & Communications team on an interim basis while the current Group Marketing and Communications Director is on maternity leave. The role is offered on a part time,31.5 hours per week,  fixed term basis for 12 months commencing in October 2020.

The Role

The Group Marketing & Communications Director is the custodian of The Big Issue Group Brand & Brand Strategy. They will lead the parliamentary agenda of Lord Bird’s office, work across the Publishing business, Big Issue Invest and support the work of The Big Issue Foundation.

Leading a small but dedicated team, they will be responsible for delivering The Big Issue Group Brand, Marketing & Communications annual plan and developing campaigns across all marketing touchpoints to deliver seamless and integrated consumer facing initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring significant marketing and communications experience to this role, preferably in a relevant sector, and will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proven track-record in leadership and delivering commercial growth, along with a firm commitment to the social objectives of The Big Issue.

Salary and Benefits

Workplace details

This role will be based at our Finsbury Park office although you will need to travel within the UK on occasion. Due to the current situation with Covid-19 our main office is currently only partially open but we are fully equipped for flexible home working until the office re-opens fully and beyond.
