Grants Programme Officer

Big Issue Invest (BII) is the social investment arm of The Big Issue. BII helps prevent poverty and creates opportunities for communities by providing finance, from unsecured loans to equity investment, to sustainable social enterprises, charities and ventures.
We are currently in the process of establishing a ‘Covid-19 Social Enterprise Support Fund’ in consortium with other UK funders. This fund will expect to deliver grants to social organisations across England from July 2020 with all expenditure completed by March 2021.
BII are looking to hire a Grants Programme Officer (GPO) with experience in project management, grant management and impact reporting. The GPO will be a key role in an exciting UK social investor delivering this new programme. The GPO will work closely with the Head of Impact and the Lending Team’s Investment Manager leading the programme.
This will be a fast-paced and exciting programme and will require a GPO who can take initiative and be comfortable working at pace.
The GPO will be responsible for leading effective collaboration with key stakeholders of the project and for delivery of key project management and reporting activities in relation to the fund. This includes liaison with funders around activity, expenditure and impact reporting.
The role is a great opportunity for someone with project management and/or grant management experience who wants to work within a social investment organisation supporting social organisations across the UK. The role provides an opportunity to build skills in project delivery, grant management, impact management and financial reporting skills. The role will sit in the Impact Team working closely with the Head of Impact and liaising closely with the Investment Manger leading the programme.
This role is initially a one-year fixed term contract with the opportunity to extend.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a salary commensurate with the third sector, which can be confirmed on request
