Job Title:                     Grants Manager (Maternity Cover)

Job Type:                    Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Contract:                    Monthly rolling with a six month review

Reports To:                 Executive Director

Location:                    London (currently WFH)

Salary:                         £30-32K

Start Date:                  ASAP

The CWC was founded in 2009 with the aim of championing care workers. There are nearly 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of Britain’s largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Early starts, long hours, mentally draining work; it’s all part of the job, but add an injury, illness or other unforeseen circumstance and all too easily care workers can be pushed beyond their financial limits. The good people of the care sector make a massive contribution to people’s everyday lives. The Care Workers Charity helps them on their rainy day. We believe no care worker should ever face financial hardship alone.

The Grants Manager will have day to day responsibility to ensure that our grant giving operates in line with our grant making policy and that this policy evolves to effectively respond to the needs of care workers who are experiencing financial hardship. The successful candidate will manage our new grant giving CRM system, Salesforce, and its use across the charity so experience using it is desirable.

An important part of the role will be supporting the Grants Administrators and the other Grants Manager regarding strategy, fundraising and policy judgement. The Grants Manager will ensure that we are taking advantage of every opportunity to improve our grant giving whilst ensuring our grant applicants experience a dignified, confidential and safe service from us.

You will report directly to the Executive Director and work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider aims of CWC.

It may be necessary for the post holder to work flexibly at times, including limited travel and out of office hours. The candidate must be comfortable working from home and commuting to London at least once a week. We are a small team and while we aim to always be considerate and accommodating, we are all expected to carry out tasks not highlighted in our job descriptions as required by the charity’s needs.

The culture at CWC is collaborative across teams and everyone’s opinion and initiatives are welcome. We enjoy working flexibly and are always available to help each other when needed.
