Job description

Senior Advocacy Groups Worker: The role will involve developing and delivering group work programmes for local carers which will meet their needs and help to achieve project outcomes. The post-holder will be responsible for the line management and supervision of P/T Advocacy Workers and Peer Support volunteers.

This role will coordinate and supervise The Carers Centre's Self Help & Advocacy Project across 3 areas in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The post holder will deliver the Leicester City group work and is expected to have significant experience and/or relevant qualifications in working with carers/or providing advocacy.

If you have experience of working with unpaid carers and understand the challenges they face, enjoy working with groups and like a job with plenty of variety, then this could be the role for you. We are currently delivering all of our group work via online virtual platforms however wish to return to a hybrid combination of virtual and face to face groups when circunstances allow.

18.5 hours a week  - days/times to be agreed with some flexibility dependant on the project’s needs. This post can be a combination of office based and home working

This is a fixed term post until March 21st 2025 with extension dependent on funding.
