Service Coordinator

Permanent contract but funding for this post ends on 31st December 2021

37 hours per week. The main delivery of service is Monday - Friday but may include some unsociable hours and possible weekend work.

£34,154 per annum

Location: University of Birmingham - Selly Oak Campus (Some travel across university campus and outside for training and external meetings)

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way. This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country.

A fabulous opportunity has developed within The Children's Society for a Service Coordinator. The successful Pause service in Digbeth has expanded to the campus of the University of Birmingham due to winning a grant from Office for Students (OfS) in partnership with the university and Forward Thinking Birmingham.

You will be part of the 'Pause at University of Birmingham' service to create an innovative and unique mobile 'hub' of staff and volunteers with mental health experience to provide interventions for students in comfortable, open-plan safe-spaces. The Hub will utilise early-intervention approaches to enhance student mental health and wellbeing on campus, allowing students to timely and flexibly access to support, and the help they need.

We are seeking a Service coordinator that:

-Has a good working knowledge of mental and emotional health

-Has skills in partnership working and service evaluations

-Has Management skills

-Is able to work at the University of Birmingham

-Due to the fast paced environment and use of computers, will have good a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and good typing skills.

-Has a background and/or has worked in Youth work, social work, health care and educational support.

Please note we will not be able to accept any student university of Birmingham student to this post.

In the post you will have access to regular supervision, opportunity to training continuing professional development to ensure students' needs are addressed.
