Service Manager - Multiple Vulnerabilities

Permanent contract

37 hours per week.

£36,184 per annum / pro rata (plus allowances)

Location

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our children and young people directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country.

We are currently looking for an innovative and personable experienced manager to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to demonstrate your experience, knowledge and understanding of working with and supporting vulnerable children and young people at risk of exploitation, trafficking, missing and similar. You will be able to apply care leaver rights and entitlements as well as legislative duties and guidelines to your work to safeguard and support the young people across the services. Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships with partners, commissioners and colleagues is essential. Management of multiple services is desirable, and evidence of supporting and line managing teams and individuals with complex and sensitive issues is essential. High level understanding and experience of child protection and safeguarding is essential. Experience of developing service delivery and best practice and monitoring and evaluating work to a high standard is essential.

[KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES]

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-To manage multiple services and contracts in London which include supporting and safeguarding young people that are experiencing or at risk of exploitation, trafficking, missing and care leavers work, including promoting young people's rights and needs.

-To supervise, empower and manage the performance of staff to deliver high quality services for vulnerable young people.

-To maintain and develop effective working relationships with partner agencies in London to support the protection of young people from harm

-To support the Safe Practice Manager, Area Manager and other Service Managers across the London Hub as required.
