The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our children and young people's directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. This is a unique role managing a local team of Disrupting Exploitation workers funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Disrupting Exploitation is a national programme working across Greater Manchester, Birmingham and London that provides intensive 1:1 support to young people experiencing exploitation, in particular child criminal exploitation, as well as delivering innovative systems change work.

We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced manager to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to lead the Greater Manchester Disrupting Exploitation team in both their direct support to young people as well as their innovative systems change work. .

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-Substantial experience of working with vulnerable young people and young adults at risk of exploitation, going missing, violence against women and girls or similar and dealing with complex safeguarding issues.

-Experience of managing, leading and supporting individuals and teams who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues in multi-agency environments

-Understanding of and a passion for systems change and innovation, including ensuring that young people have a voice in change

-Monitoring and evaluating work and producing written reports of a high standard

The Children's Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children's lives happier and safer.

Every day we're changing the lives of children in this country for the better - and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.

The Children's Society is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.

The closing date for applications is 11pm on Sunday 7th of June.

Interviews will be held virtually on the week commencing 15th of June.
