EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND SECRETARY TO THE CREMATION SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN

3 days a week

Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 pro rata: FTE £45,000- £55,000

Applications are invited for the part-time post of Executive Officer and Secretary to The Cremation Society of Great Britain, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee with headquarters in Brecon House, Maidstone, Kent.

 

The Society is looking for a committed individual with leadership qualities, excellent inter-personal skills and experience in office management at a time when The Society is developing its new strategic plan and cementing its international position as a resource and authority on cremation. Aligned with this is the opportunity to play a key role in meetings involving the cremation and funeral sectors, Government departments, external bodies and other panels approved by the Board of Trustees.

 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the office and staff; the Society budget; and Brecon House, the Society’s property. Acting as Company Secretary you will ensure compliance with all Charity Commission and statutory requirements and guidelines; attend and minute all Council and Annual General Meetings. In conjunction with the Board of Trustees, you will develop and implement the Society’s Strategic Plan and take full responsibility for the delivery and completion of the Annual Operating Plan. You will have overall responsibility for editing the Society’s journal (Pharos International) and other Society literature (both print and electronic).
