Job description

Clinical trials are the bedrock of translational research and are an essential element in ensuring new therapies are rapidly and safely translated to clinical use to transform the lives of people with cystic fibrosis.  The aim of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust is to ensure that all people with cystic fibrosis can obtain access to new treatments as quickly as possible. For people with cystic fibrosis, time is precious. This last decade has seen an unprecedented increase in cystic fibrosis clinical research resulting in a rich pipeline of drug discovery and development.

Five years ago the Trust set up a programme of work to broaden the reach of trials to all people with cystic fibrosis in the UK. The Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP) is a national CF clinical trials network. It has created infrastructure and funded additional research capacity (trial coordinators) to support NHS Cystic Fibrosis centres to grow their clinical trial portfolio. This in turn is has been increasing the number of clinical trial opportunities, and improving access to the newest medications for people living with cystic fibrosis in the UK.

This is an exciting and varied role which not only leads in the data management which underpins the programme, but also plays an important role with the management of high priority CTAP projects. This is a unique opportunity to join a small but dedicated team who are working with medical professionals, pharmaceutical companies and people with cystic fibrosis to improve access and delivery of cystic fibrosis clinical trials.

Benefits include 30 days annual leave pro rata, flexible working and opportunities for learning and development.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust welcomes applications from candidates from all backgrounds and particularly from people with cystic fibrosis, disabled people, and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) and LGBTQI candidates.
