SW1V, London
£40,000 per year
Contract, Full-time
Job description

Fixed Term for 2 Years

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a world leading youth charity which gives all 14-24 year olds the chance to develop skills for life and work. We engage, inspire and empower over 300,000 young people a year across the UK and from every possible background.

The DofE Award is a game-changer. We know that perseverance and passion for long-term goals is linked to success in education, life and work. Our structured programme of volunteering, physical and skills based challenges inspire, guide and support young people to achieve.

We believe that anything is possible and the possibilities are endless. The positive effects of the DofE are proven and far-reaching. Communities are enriched with passionate and driven volunteers, businesses benefit from work-ready, competent recruits and young people are given the confidence to shine.

We are looking for a new Operations Manager to join our London Regional Office.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the achievement of key regional operating targets and delivery of strategy through the provision of advice, quality assurance and development support to a portfolio of Licensed Organisations.

The charity licenses other organisations to provide DofE activities to young people. We guide, support and develop these partners but do not work directly with young people undertaking DofE programmes.

You will manage a team of Operations Officers, each of whom will have specific responsibility for a number of boroughs within the London Region. The role will be based in the London Regional Office and will involve regular travel to attend meetings, events and training.

The postholder will be a passionate advocate for the work of the DofE and be driven to realise DofE London’s ambition to extend reach across the Region.

Through your team, and with the support of other colleagues, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day contact, long term planning and support of Licensed Organisations.

The postholder will extend the reach of the DofE in Licensed Organisations such as schools and colleges, increase Award achievement rates and also the number of young people undertaking a DofE programme from a disadvantaged background in London.

They will ensure high quality programmes are being delivered across their area and will ultimately support the attainment of Regional targets and success. This role sits within the London operations team and reports to the London Director.

Please visit the DofE website for full details.

If you think you have the desired skills and experience then please apply online.

The closing date for all applications is Monday 27th January 2020 at 12 noon.

First interviews will take place on Monday 3rd February 2020 and second interviews will take place on Tuesday 11th February 2020 in London.
