About the Fair Education Alliance

The Fair Education Alliance (FEA) is England’s largest education coalition. They unite over 230 member organisations under a shared vision that no child’s educational success is limited by their socio-economic background. Their members (youth organisations, charities and social enterprises, research organisations and think tanks, businesses and foundations, unions, universities and schools) are working together to achieve an inclusive education system that works for all children and young people.

About the role

The Fair Education Alliance is currently led by two CO-CEOs Gina Cicerone and Sam Butters. They share the joint function of CEO and divide line-management and operational oversight between them. Sam leads on cross cutting activity (events, comms, projects) and member collective action work and Gina leads on the Scaling Impact Awards.

As Sam takes maternity leave from Feb 2022, Gina will be taking on sole CEO-ship for the leave period, and so we are looking for a senior leader to work with Gina to take on the oversight and leadership of the cross-cutting activity (events, comms, projects and member collective action which Sam previously led on.

This Director of Collective Action will be responsible for management and oversight of Collective Action and Policy and Influencing areas of work, including line management of the team in these areas.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have a passion for tackling inequalities in society and an excellent understanding of the education landscape in the UK. They will have the skills to bring together the FEA’s diverse membership to drive systematic change and communicate the FEA’s vision effectively. Additionally, they will have a strong track record of leading teams, managing people, and relationship building.

Application deadline: 12am on Thursday 21st October
