Job description

Fairtrade Foundation is recruiting an Administrator to support the Programme Partnerships Team.

The post holder will provide excellent support to the Programme Partnerships team (and associated Supply Chain team) with a particular focus on handling the administrative and financial processes associated with active programmes, as well as organising information and data flows from the programmes work. The Foundation is increasingly focused on securing investment to provide programmatic support work with Fairtrade farmers and workers. The investment from grants or finance from commercial partners requires very careful administration to comply both with donor requirements and the Foundation’s own internal audit practice as well as to support learning within the Fairtrade system to improve our performance

The ideal candidate will need to have a very good eye for detail, be highly organised and have a good basic understanding of financial and data processes. We need this person to be comfortable with reporting procedures but it is not essential that you have experience in administering grants.

This role will work closely with colleagues and be supported by an experienced team within Programme Partnerships and Finance so we need good team work experience within an office environment and ability to work independently once shown the job requirements. We need excellent IT skills and ability to support the team with administrative tasks such as inputting information into databases and setting up systems and processes to support grant applications and management. There will be opportunities to learn about programmes work. The busy environment requires excellent organisational and prioritsation skills.

At Fairtrade we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children & vulnerable adults in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work within this environment are recruited to work for us. Therefore for this specific role a Basic DBS check will be needed as part of an offer of employment. This will be paid for by the foundation.

The Fairtrade Foundation is an equal opportunities employer, offers flexible working and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with ethnically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQ+ candidates and from candidates with disabilities, because we would like to increase the representation of these groups at this level. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to greater results for producers and farmers around the world.

Closing date: 20th May (5pm)

Interviews will take place wc 31 May 2021

Contract: 12 month, fixed term contract
