The Foundry Sheffield are a small charity responsible for the management and maintenance of Victoria Hall, and other historic community buildings in Sheffield. Working closely alongside the Operations and Development Manager, you will be communicating with the Foundry's management, staff, and volunteer team, and users, hirers, guests, and visitors to the Foundry.
Purpose of role:
(1) The post will play a pivotal role in supporting our core values. The position involves overseeing community engagement and facility management, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the effective operation of the charity's buildings. This role emphasises a commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and promoting a safe, welcoming space for all.
Main Responsibilities:
Community Engagement and Partnerships
-Develop and maintain relationships with local organisations, businesses, and community leaders to help support community growth.
-Collaborate with stakeholders to implement community initiatives that reflect our values.
-Foster inclusivity and diversity within community programmes, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued.
Line Management
-Recruit, onboard, and train team members for various locations, providing guidance and support to help them flourish in their roles.
-Line manage a small team to ensure individuals are supported and encouraged to develop within their areas of strength whilst ensuring efficient and good ways of working.
-Offer continuous coaching and mentorship to staff, fostering a positive work environment conducive to growth.
-Organise team-building activities to enhance collaboration and teamwork within the team.
-Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support community initiatives effectively.
-Acknowledge and accommodate flexible work hours for staff members to promote a healthy work-life balance, supporting their overall well-being.
-Ensure an equitable workload distribution among the team to maintain staff well-being, fostering a supportive work environment.
Facilities Management
-Efficiently manage budgets and resources for different locations, optimising resource allocation to help support community programmes.
-Oversee facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe environment.
-Monitor compliance with organisational policies and procedures, including legal, financial, and safety regulations, to ensure the well-being of the community and staff.
-Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans for all locations, providing necessary resources and support.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement
-Maintain transparent and open communication with stakeholders, fostering trust and positive relationships.
-Provide regular updates on community projects and initiatives, keeping all parties informed and involved.
-Address concerns and feedback from community members promptly and professionally to ensure their satisfaction and support.
-Identify areas for improvement in community engagement strategies, implementing data-driven enhancements to better support the community.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of community programmes and make data-driven improvements, ensuring resources are utilised to maximise their impact.
-Prepare regular reports on community projects, achievements, and challenges, maintaining accurate documentation to showcase the impact of community initiatives and garner further support.
-Help build and drive bookings in line with the Foundry's community work and support
