We are looking for a Director of Development & Partnerships to shape our business model, establish strong relationships across the sector, confidently promote our brand and grow our impact for young people. We are seeking an authentic, energetic, inventive and determined Director of Development & Partnerships who thrives on finding creative business development solutions to solve complex social issues and enjoys leading and delivering on a breadth and variety of workstreams. You will join a forward-thinking, ambitious organisation at a critical point in our 28-year history. We have recently launched our new three-year strategy to support our mission to inspire and equip young people who have experienced homelessness to realise their power and purpose. This will be a key role in securing sustainable growth to deepen and broaden our impact.
This role might suit an experienced manager or department head who is looking to have more strategic influence, or someone working at a Director level who would like to be more ‘hands on’ and have greater ownership over their role.

The Foyer Federation is an innovative youth charity working to improve the lives of young people who can’t live at home. Since 1992, we have worked with a network of Foyers to inspire, challenge and quality assure approaches to developing the skills and resources young people need to thrive, not just cope.
We believe all young people can shape a successful journey into adulthood if they have access to the right training, contacts and opportunities to invest in their talents. We’re leading a movement of like-minded organisations and individuals who want to improve the prospects of all young people through an asset-based approach, which we call ‘Advantaged Thinking’. We’re committed to working with our network of Foyers and external experts to improve the ‘offer’ for young people.
Our 28-year history has established us as a trailblazer within the youth housing sector, delivering impactful programmes and challenging the status quo. Outline of the role:
This is a unique opportunity to influence and drive the strategic growth of the Foyer Federation by generating the revenue and investment to support our new ‘Home for Advantaged Thinking’ three-year strategy.
As the Director of Development & Partnerships, you’ll use your expertise and work across the youth and housing sector to bring new organisations into our community of members. You’ll build strong and enduring relationships with a range of strategic stakeholder leads within housing associations and youth projects that provide inspirational Advantaged Thinking services to young people.
You will also work with the Chief Executive to develop national partnerships with youth sector peers, corporates, and charitable trusts and foundations to enhance our reach and influence.
You will lead on the design and implementation of an external partnership strategy to raise awareness of the Foyer Federation and Advantaged Thinking brand, increasing awareness of our work across the youth and housing sectors, and growing our reach and influence.
We are looking for someone who is creative, articulate, collaborative and commercially aware, who can provide business development leadership and strategic direction, supporting the Chief Executive to grow the organisation and identify new sources of income.
