An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time (three days per week) Marketing and Communications Officer to join The Furniture Makers’ Company, a City of London livery company and the furnishing industry’s charity.
The organisation has a very wide programme of activity that centres around encouraging young people into the furniture and design sector, championing excellence through an awards programme and supporting people who work or have worked in the industry who have fallen on hard times.
Strong written English and proofreading skills are an absolute necessity as you will be responsible for writing a diverse spread of marketing communications, including press releases, case studies, website content and social media posts, to promote the work of the charity to various key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for managing the Company’s social media channels, with the aim of growing the number of followers and increasing engagement. Therefore a keen, creative eye is needed to write persuasive, absorbing copy to accompany compelling imagery.
You must have experience in managing Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin accounts and have a basic knowledge of Photoshop or Indesign to manipulate and edit images.
Experience of using a content management system, preferably Wordpress, is essential and experience of optimising website content for search engines would also be beneficial.
