The My Sighted Guide Partnership Officer provides an exceptional person-centric service user experience, enabling people with sight loss to live the life they choose by acting as the champion and technical expert for My Sighted Guide services. They ensure My Sighted Guide services are available, when appropriate, to service users at all stages of their mobility journey.
We currently have 2 opportunities available in the South East:
London – permanent, full-time - Starting Salary £28,988 per annum + £4,200 London Weighting + benefits
St Albans – anticipated 7 month FTC, full-time - Starting Salary £28,988 per annum pro-rata + £2400 allowance pro-rata + benefits (please note this FTC could end earlier)
This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year / pro-rata.

To be able to fulfil this role, the skills and experience we are looking for in a potential candidate include;
- Proven experience of volunteer management, supervision, and development.
- Experience of delivering training to groups and individuals in different formats.
- Relevant and recent skills and experience working in a safeguarding setting or having responsibility for the safeguarding of others, e.g. social care, education, health, police, voluntary sector safeguarding lead.
- Recent and relevant experience of working within the children /vulnerable adults’ sector.
- Relevant and recent knowledge of safeguarding practices.
- Demonstrates an understanding of visual impairment issues and service requirements.
- Understands the importance of accessibility and usability in a training context.
