Job description

The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK. The Data Analytics team at Health Foundation uses data to tackle real-world problems across the health and care system. Our new Data Analytics for Better Health strategy, launched in January 2020, builds on these strengths, and has a mission to ensure that analytics and data-driven technology benefits the health of everyone in the UK. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a data engineer with a passion for improving health outcomes. Working with the Principal Data Analyst, you will have a key role in designing and developing reproducible analytical pipelines and in producing high-quality data products to provide analysts with quick and reliable access to analysis-ready data.

You will have a successful track record of developing appropriate and effective technical solutions to real-world data challenges. You will be an expert in R, preferably with a working knowledge of other common programming languages and will be familiar with best practices in version control and open source.

The successful candidate will be able to work both collaboratively to deliver joint projects and to provide technical mentorship to colleagues in order to enable teams across the Health Foundation to make best use of available datasets.
