Job description

The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.

Please note that we will soon be moving to a hybrid way of working.

The Q community is an initiative connecting people with improvement expertise across the UK and Ireland. It is led by the Health Foundation and supported by our partners including NHS England and Improvement.

Q’s mission is to foster continuous and sustainable improvement in health and care. To achieve this, we are creating opportunities for people to come together and form a community – sharing ideas, enhancing skills and collaborating to make health and care better.

Events and workshops play a crucial part in the delivery of Q’s strategy and impact – connecting members and stakeholders, supporting learning and knowledge sharing and growing our reach. We have a strong reputation for our events, both face-to-face and virtual, which are known for creating innovative, inspiring and collaborative spaces.

The Events Manager will have the opportunity to build from this to further inspire and support Q members and others to improve health and care quality. This is a varied and pretty unique role, mixing strategy, delivery and support for others to deliver great collaborative events.

The postholder will:

  • Lead on the design and delivery of a varied portfolio of events, from larger conferences to collaborative workshops and stakeholder engagement events to our presence at third party events.
  • Develop the strategy and approach for our events overall so that they align with our objectives, brand and values, and respond to audience expectations as they evolve.
  • Put in place the tools, systems and suppliers we need so that the team can run events effectively and share how we work internally and externally.

With collaboration, learning and continuous improvement at the heart of what we do, this role will bring these qualities to our events programme and support others to learn from what we do.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a versatile and innovative events professional with a passion for creating high quality, collaborative events, an interest in health and care and networked approaches to change, and who can commit to our core behaviours – Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, Working Together, Discovering & Learning and Achieving Impact.
