The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to better health and health care for people in the UK. Our policy team focuses on analysing national health and social care policy. We have an exciting opportunity for a new policy officer to join our growing team.
The policy officer will work on a mix of short and longer-term projects in the policy team, including supporting in-house policy analysis and research, as well as helping to scope ideas for commissioned research. Much of the policy officer’s initial work will involve supporting our programme of analysis on national COVID-19 policies in England. Policy projects currently underway on COVID-19 include in-depth analysis of the first phase of the government’s COVID-19 response and the factors shaping these policies, and ongoing tracking of key health and social policy developments related to COVID-19 over time. The policy officer will also contribute to other projects in the team’s broader work programme.
You will need to have some experience of policy analysis and qualitative research methods—ideally applied to health and social care policy. Everybody in the policy team contributes to our written work—so the ability to write with clarity about complex issues is also essential. You should be able to work collaboratively, and value the mix of methods and approaches that are needed to produce effective analysis of policy.
