The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.
The successful candidate will support the Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships in the delivery of the Healthy Lives portfolio, managing programmes and mobilising the insights from them to ensure that the Foundation achieves maximum impact in improving health and reducing health inequalities. You will manage to a high standard a range of concurrent programmes including, for example, work on reframing the social determinants of health and supporting local cross-sector partnerships.
You will apply established programme management principles to design, manage and deliver a complex portfolio of activities including developing and leading an internal team to support the programme, managing detailed internal project plans and liaising with staff from within the Foundation and external partners. Once recruited you will also acquire, maintain and develop knowledge about the context of the Foundation’s work to enable the development, review and communication of the Foundation’s learning, achievements and policy positions.
Our ideal candidate will be suitably qualified and have an advanced understanding of public health policy, particularly the wider determinants of health and health inequalities. You will be an experience Programme manager and have a track record of translating evidence into policy and practice. In addition, your ability to lead teams, work in a multi-organisation/ partnership context along with your aptitude for grasping new areas of knowledge, developing a working competence and shaping programme direction will be crucial to your success in the role.
