The London Library is an internationally-important centre of creativity with an outstanding collection of books and resources. We are a registered charity dedicated to the advancement of education, learning and knowledge and are looking to recruit a senior level marketing professional to increase awareness of the Library as well as grow membership through compelling acquisition and retention activities.

This is an exciting time to join the Library in a senior role as we are in the middle of a 6-year strategic plan and have already made great strides in growing awareness and membership. As Head of Marketing and Communications we want you to drive forward our marketing and communications as you bring your own ideas to introduce to new audiences an organisation that generates millions for the UK economy and is greatly valued by thousands of members.  This will involve developing a new marketing team and collaborating with colleagues, members, influencers and the media to tell our story and extend our reach. Using a variety of channels and techniques you will create, deliver and manage membership recruitment marketing plans as well as develop and implement our approach to social media. You will ensure consistency of brand and tone of voice too. You will also build and manage relationships with relevant media contacts, external suppliers and agencies. You will be comfortable monitoring effectiveness, creating insight and using learning to improve performance and achieve business targets.

You will bring with you a successful track record of creating and implementing effective marketing and communications plans, ideally within the arts sector. Experienced in reaching new audiences, fostering engagement and meeting targets, you will be adept at developing and maintaining positive media relations and managing stakeholders too. Effective at developing and motivating teams, you will be a strong project manager with a good understanding of digital marketing techniques and software. You will also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills Critically, you will have a passion for your work and the work of The London Library.
