Project Cataloguing Assistants
3 month Fixed Term Contract (possibility of extension)
£21,305 per annum pro rata
Founded in 1841, The London Library is one of the world's leading literary institutions with an outstanding collection of books and resources. We are a registered charity dedicated to the advancement of education, learning and knowledge. We are now building a team to assist with the completion of our retrospective cataloguing project that will open-up a greater portion of our collection to members.
Your role will be to transfer older catalogues onto our Library Management System (ALMA) which will include listing records onto spreadsheets, checking and editing records as well as creating new ones where required. You will also help members with catalogue and book enquiries as needed and ensure that book stacks are kept in good order.
With some prior library experience, you will need to be good with people, organised, used to working to tight deadlines and have a keen attention to detail. You will have good GCSE passes including Maths and English and be proficient with MSOffice. Relevant online cataloguing experience would be an advantage.
