You will be joining and helping to grow a small but dynamic, ambitious and successful organisation, which, in collaboration with our member organisations, has raised the profile of neurological conditions like never before.
At a time of change and enormous pressure for the health and social care sector, it is vital that we keep this momentum going to make sure neurology is a national policy priority and that this is translated into vital neurological service improvements. The role of the Alliance has never been more important and as Policy and Campaigns Assistant, you will help us to deliver our exciting policy and campaigns strategy.
About the role
There are around 12 million people affected by a neurological condition in England; from epilepsy to encephalitis and migraine to motor neurone disease, these conditions are diverse, complex and largely unpreventable.
In this role, you will assist our team in shaping and driving forward our policy and campaigns work, helping to ensure that we stay ahead of developments in the policy environment, have the evidence we need to influence decision makers, and we are working collaboratively with our members and wider stakeholders.

To meet the challenge, you will need to be a highly motivated individual with demonstrable interest in developing a career in policy and campaigns. You may be a recent graduate or be further on in your career and looking to change direction. You will have proven administrative abilities and experience in undertaking desk-based research. You will possess an excellent standard of English and demonstrable written communications skills. You will be a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Over the next three years we aim to:
- Ensure all our activities are underpinned by a detailed and up to date understanding of the needs of people with neurological conditions
- Empower and support members to drive collective action that seeks to address the issues facing people with neurological conditions
- Ensure the voices of people with neurological conditions are at the centre of national neurology policy and service improvement initiatives in order to increase the prioritisation of neurology
- Support the translation of policy and improvement initiatives into improved outcomes for people with neurological conditions
