The Open University is seeking facilitators to help deliver a groundbreaking Massive Open Online Course for International Development professionals to improve safeguarding practices and support national sector partners in meeting safeguarding responsibilities.
The MOOC ‘Introduction to Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector’ was developed by The Open University (OU), with funding from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). It is for staff who are designated safeguarding leads or have a safeguarding role or responsibility for their organisations working in international development and humanitarian settings. The MOOC’s second presentation will start on 13 September 2021 and run for 8 weeks (out of which 6 weeks will be facilitated). This course, presented on the FutureLearn platform, examines identifying and preventing safeguarding concerns, reporting and responding to these concerns, and learning from such incidents. By the end of the course adult learners will be in a better position to improve the safeguarding procedures within the organisation that they work for and keep people safe as part of organisational culture. Our learners are taught through a blended mix of online materials, interactive exercises, audios and videos.
We are seeking to recruit MOOC Facilitators to support adult learners on the FutureLearn platform during the MOOC, including by answering questions on content, correcting misconceptions, and helping learners to achieve successful completion of the course. As a facilitator, you’ll support an entire cohort of learners through interaction in the conversations that take place on each step of the course
