We believe that by bringing people together to improve their fitness, we can use the power of this collective energy to widen the possibilities for young people in East London.
We help build young people’s confidence and skills through our activities in the local area, including our youth running club, careers events, work experience, mentoring and coaching.

What do we want?
Last year we supported 230 young people and in 2022, our goal is to help 450 young people. To achieve that we are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage the programmes we run and act as the primary contact for everyone that works with us.
This is a full-time role on a 1-year fixed term contract, with the potential to become permanent.
What does that look like?
We currently have a team of 40 volunteers which we are hoping to increase to 70 in 2022. Working closely with our CEO and Operations and Programme Coordinator, you’ll be a key part of that growth with responsibilities in the following areas:
Working with volunteers
Training and developing volunteers and supporting them through their application, reference checks and DBS process
Recruiting volunteers from a variety of avenues
Managing, growing and developing our one-to-one social mentoring programme from 6 to 30 Mentor-Mentee relationships
Monthly supervision meetings with all of our one-to-one mentors, offering advice and signposting to training
Creating and sourcing resources for mentors
All admin associated with volunteers i.e. expenses, rotas, database management, mentee evaluations
Working with our Mentees
Liaising with families of mentees and reaching out to schools to support with transitions and attending meetings when needed Being one of three Designated Safeguarding Leads (training will be provided)
Supporting with fundraising events, key race dates and galvanizing volunteers
Developing assets for social media and communication Regularly attending the adult run club to talk about volunteer roles (not expected to run unless you want to!)
Pitching in to help with other tasks if required
Skills and attributes needed
Proven experience in an administrative role where there is a high level of contact with people. Previous experience working within a charity would also be a bonus
Excellent administration skills with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Xero and budget spreadsheets
Familiarity with social media management
A natural ‘people person’ with a high level of empathy. Being able to make people feel valued, respected and heard
Strong communication skills and the ability to get your point across clearly and concisely at all levels
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Reliable with patience, professionalism and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality
A self-starter with lots of energy, enthusiasm and a passion for working with young people
An understanding of therapeutic youth work is desirable but not essential
